Jellyfish, Octopus, Thing
(2007) Object
Cast bronze
The body was initially a sheet of clay around a small ball, and the tentacles were made of rope before the parts were cast in plaster and silicone. A replica of the object was made in wax before the lost wax process was used to create the cast bronze object. This object was then cleaned up by sandblasting, angle-grinding and polishing although this final process took a long time due to the complex form and numerous undercuts.
