Lace Light
(2006) Object
White opal perspex, black anodized aluminum, batten lighting
Hundreds of hand-drilled holes allow the light to shine through the aluminum and glow through the perspex in a pattern appropriated from a piece of lace. The result is quite striking given the colours, the amount of light let through and the contrast between the glowing perspex and the pinpoints of light. This is a large piece intended to sit on the floor and against the wall, as a feature light.
